I'm due to head out to Jeddah to commence work (Industrial Security section) mid June so thought I would check in to see if anyone has experience to allow answers to the following questions:
1. I am married and have family status but will head out alone on mobilisation. My wife plans to join in mid August. When she is in Kindgom does anyone know how long her Iqama and multi visa process is likely to take? She may have unavoidable travel in September, hence my question
2. Has anyone else got experience of an expat assignment in Jeddah with Aramco? I am aware this is not a common Aramco location but wondered if anyone could shed light on likely arrangements for transitional housing and thereafter compounds that would be worth exploring for a british expat?
3. My wife works as a dentist back home (UK certified rather than US). Any indications of likelihood of her picking up work in Jeddah?
4. Medical care - as there are no Aramco compounds in Jeddah there will be no Aramco medical facilities. I believe instead there are Aramco approved hospitals. Does anyone have experience of quality of care in these, particularly GP type service for infant children?
