So I read a post on here where someone wrote that they arrived at 10:30 p.m. to their accomadtion and surely the mini markets/commissaries are closed at that hour. And I don't think the welcome pack has any ingredients that lets you whip up a dinner? Or I am wrong? So what do we do? Should I bring instant noodles for us in our luggage? Those of you already in the kingdom who arrived late at night what did you do? We will be coming with two small children and that's why I would like to know so I can plan accordingly.

I think we dined on Pasta and processed cheese the night we arrived. There was also a loaf of bread, milk , er and so on when you arrive. Nothing substantial enough to make a meal, but certainly something you can throw together as a substantial snack.
There was also food and drink at the company offices at the airport when you arrive, although I can't recall what.
Throw in noddles to your luggage by all means if you are at all concerned.

We arrived much later than 10 pm, and we just went to bed, to be honest. We flew on Lufthansa and there was lots of food to eat before we landed.

Our commissary in UDH is open 24 hours...not sure about the other compounds, but if it's Lulu, then it probably is open. Baqalahs are open late, not sure when they close, but at least they're open until midnight. Tamimi is 24 hours as well. And, all the fast food places are open until at least 2 am. You will easily find a place to eat at 10:30 pm since Saudi culture is to stay up late...at my Saudi in-laws house, we often don't eat dinner until 11 pm, and if you ever attend a Saudi wedding (for women) you will have your dinner around 3 am!

Upon my arrival, I had eaten a nice dinner on the business class flight in. When I landed, I was too tired so i just went to bed. Depending on where you're traveling from, the business class flight in will likely provide a decent meal service. Don't miss it and enjoy the light snacks offered just before decent. That way you're not ravinous upon your arrival. You too will also be very tired if you have a late arrival.
