Hi,
Over the summer, the family will be out of OOK. We want to take that opportunity to renew my wife's passport which has a bit over a year to run. Has anyone renewed their passport OOK and returned with both the new passport and the old passport carrying the multi-entry visa?
Did anyone have any problems?

No problem, just don't let them punch holes in the visa page if there is one in your old passport. With the online visa now, probably no problem. We just staple them together, new one on the top.

Many thanks painter. I sort of expected that it would be ok but it is very good to have it confirmed. Thanks again.

Hi,
we will also be doing this during summer holiday.
My son's passport will have less than 6 months validity remaining when we exit KSA to go to the UK. I am told that this is ok providing it is renewed prior to returning.
Interestested to hear if anyone has done this.
Many thanks.

In case this is of use to anyone, our son's passport renewal as per my previous post was successful.
Left via Bahrain to the UK with 5 months validity remaining on his passport. Renewed and returned across the causeway.

Same here - worked like a charm for us. One tip, though, have the old passport ready at Bahrain airport if coming in through there. The new passport confuses them and they will want to see the old one (I had to dig through our expansive hand luggage to find my wife's).
Saudi Passport Control on the causeway was a breeze - even faster at the booth than usual for some reason!

That is why I said staple the 2 passports together, you then hand them the new and old one together until you get a new visa with the new passport.
