Hi There,
I have obtained lot of valuable information from the board and could not able to find the below Post anywhere.
If housing is not allocated in camp due to nonavailability, does Aramco provide any Hotel accommodation for 1 or 2 weeks until i find a suitable house?
My current Status: Obtained visa number and sent my passport for stamping a week ago.
Appreciate responses.
Thanks, Elam

Up to now, as far as I am aware (and based on everything posted by other newcomers to this point) the company always provides accommodation for new hires. So far, they have not been putting anyone in hotels. There is still availability of housing, just not as much as there used to be in times gone by.

Thanks GroveWanderer for a response. I am recruited for Ras Tunara location and was told by my recruitment consultancy that housing is not available at the moment.
It could be helpful if you let me know the closest town to work location (RT)
Thanks, Elam

Elam, If coming with kids, you may not want to get housing in the local community. If you do, then your children will not attend the Aramco schools. You will have to find alternative schooling for them in the local community.
I always recommend: you take the company assigned housing first. Then you can decide if you want to move off camp and you can make the best decision for your family as well as yourself.

Also, as a purely practical matter I think it would be almost impossible to rent accommodation immediately on arrival. As far as I know, to make a rental agreement you need to have an iqama. It will normally take you a couple of weeks (minimum) before you have that.
So I don't think you have any much choice except to take the accommodation provided by the company, at least initially.
However I would also agree with vpainter that it is better to do this anyway, it gives you a little time and "breathing space" so you can figure out what is the best option in the long run.

o GroveWanderer,
Yes from this forum I observe that company accommodation is always provided. However, at recent situation it seems housing is becoming a serious issue for new comers. As normally the house is assigned in the last minute, what happens if in reality it is full ? Do they put new comers in temporary place or possible delay departures? Thanks for sharing the info...

If Saudi Aramco hires you, they will provide you accommodation upon your arrival. Try not to worry about what might happen if your housing is occupied. If it's occupied, then it's not yours yet!
Saudi Aramco will find you and your family accommodation if they put you on the plane to relocate. They make absolutely no guarantees of the exact house you will get until you actually move into your house, and it's always been this way. Beyond that, they may put you anywhere they can put you until more permanent housing is available, which could be years off unfortunately, or until you bid into better housing, which could also be years in the future.

Hi There,
I am travelling to KSA on 09th July and was told by relocation adviser that i have been allocated with a transient house.
Can anyone let me know about the facilities provided in transient house? (Kitchen appliances, Internet, fridge and Washing machine etc...)
Thanks, Elam

I don’t have the answer to your question because transient housing can mean a lot of things including hotels but just wanted to give you a heads up that your arrival will be not at the best of times. Government offices close on that day. No iqama paperwork will be submitted until after Eid break and I believe govt offices will open again on July 26th. Nothing you can do about it but just be aware that it will be a little time before you get your iqama. And there is very little you can do until you get an iqama and I don’t think you would be able to sign a lease for housing outside an Aramco facility.

Hi rdj_3 I am going to arrive in Dhahran end Aug and will be staying at the temporary bachelor accommodation in al munirah (same as your situation).
Would it be possible for you to share your experience here or alternatively via pm?
