Dear All,
Since couple of months I am trying with the contingencies. I got my Visa on my passport finally. And my relocation adviser confirmed to me by e-mail that I can resign from my current job. I waited for 3 days to be sure that nothing changes from my adviser and finally I resigned and confirmed for the departure date for flight booking. But my relocation adviser called me after couple of days and asked me if I can withdraw or postpone my resignation. He told me that there are some problems with the residential permits in KSA so this is the reason for the request. I told him that it is impossible for me to cancel resignation.
This situation has became a really nightmare for me.
Did anyone face a similar case or anyone knows if there is really any problem with the residential permits in KSA? Where can the process go?
You also can PM me.
Really I need all kind of information and feedback.
Best Regards,

Hi Expat101
I am experiencing something similar..I was offered a position in Nov 2014 and was told to be KSA second or third week of January 2015. My work visa was stamped and I resigned from my position but my agents are not returning my emails and telephone calls are ignored.
So disappointed.

Have any of you heard anything back. My passport has also gone for visa right now from Houston office and am waiting to hear back
Surely - Once you have the visa, you will be going . Just a matter of time when no?
Would appreciate feedback as well

I am in the same boat as well.
Asked to resigned in Feb 2015. Visa issued in Feb 15. Tickets were booked for 25th March but 7 days before we were due to fly the orders were received to delay my mobilisation.
Still delayed. No update and reason. Visa will expire first week of May 15.
Living in a temporary Accomodation. Let's hope the delay is not for long.

Expat0101, Adeel,
So what is the news? Does Aramco only delay your departures? I just dont believe that Aramco could easily change their mind after confirmation to ask candidates for resignation. As you said, not possible to cancel resignation. Really nightmare !
I hope you guys can go to KSA at the soonest

This is a little disturbing. I am not in a line of work where I can resign and go back to my previous position if Aramco changes their mind. Do any of you care to share what type of work you do? Education, Admin, engineer, Aviation, marine, etc? Will Aramco provide compensation if they request you resign and then decide not to hire you?
Hope all is sorted out very soon for you.

I've never heard of anything like this happening before with Relocation Advisors employed directly by Saudi Aramco, or ASC in Houston, or AOC.
Are you a direct hire candidate working with a Saudi Aramco relocation advisor? Or for a contractor, or subcontractor?
I suspect there could be some legal ramifications if they told you in writing to resign your job, and then after resigning, they came back and said there was a problem and they could not put you on an airplane for KSA.

HI
I am a Electrical Engineer working previously in the power industry in the UK.
I am suppose to be a direct hire (AOC) dealing with London office.
Don't know what's the reason for delay. Not communicated. They have just asked me to wait for a while. I hope its resolves for others and myself quickly.

I am in touch directly with AOC and every correspondance with them is in the archive.
It is really frusturating to be in such a condition. To be in Aramco was really my dream but now I really wish that i have a chance to change my decision for resignation. but it is too late

There is a change in policy regarding housing, now they are asking people to sign the acknowledgement that they will be given the rental assistance rather than housing and kids will not be able to attend Aramco school, so that might be the reason of delay.

That is more troubling! I have two kids who will start school next year. That will be a complete deal breaker for me and my family.
Does this apply to US employees working directly for ARAMCO?
I hope I get some honest info from ARAMCO about possible changes. I need the info BEFORE I leave my current job.
Please keep us posted.

AlaskaKat, I haven't seen anything official yet, but I have heard that the new housing policy might apply to certain payrolls. I cannot see it ever applying to American payroll though due to tax policy (we're the only country in the world where you still pay federal taxes even after establishing residency elsewhere & housing subsidies are counted as income. Taxes on such extras are 'protected' by Aramco, meaning they pay them for you. So Americans living off Aramco-owned communities (which don't count for taxes) are very expensive to Aramco.

Everything is subject to change agree. But the correct time for this is not time that you agree all the terms and sign a contract and have the authorization to resign even resignation is done for our case at least.
