Does anyone know how good the stc 4g signal is in rahima? I'm struggling to get 2 out of 5 bars on my router in the flat I'm in at the moment in khobar

We've been on RT about a month.... With STC we get about 1 or 2 bars and max out at about 5mb down. We finally got Aramco DSL installed this week and receive about 3.5mb down and 512kb up.

You may get a '4G' signal, but the download speed is usually pretty poor. There have been a few times Ive gotten 10-15Mbps, but at peak times it can be under 5.

I am far from expert on this but if you bring a device from the USA you may not get 4G at all. Saudi devices use a different radio frequency for 4G than the USA. My I phone 6 has a 4G light but research says it isn't.

Any updates to this topic in 2016? I understand Netflix is now available without a VPN. How has the ability to view movies and regular TV been thus far under the VPN standard? How are operations like video chat in Skype and Facetime at home in Ras Tanura?

Internet service at RT is not great. DSL through the company is available, but watching video through VPN does slow things down. I recall lots of buffering and waiting. Now that Netflix is open, I suspect that will make the viewing experience better, at least when watching Netflix. Video Skype and Facetime on the iPhone work well, but again, just depends on your internet covee. (Not intended to be an explicit product plug, but relevant to the question posed...There are some great products available from www.sabaitechnology.com/, but this site is not available IK.) Do your homework before relocating...Some friends at RT complain that 4G service there is not always better than the company DSL service available...sometimes it's better, sometimes getting a solid signal is difficult.
