Hi All,
I am a newbie to the forum looking to connect with healthcare workers. I was offered a job (single individual contract) in Dhahran and just wanted to get a few more details. 1) where is the hospital located? 2) what are the avee hours per week? 3) what uniform items do I need to bring?e.g. Shoes, fob, stethoscope 4) where are healthcare workers usually housed? 5) what is the commute time to work? I would appreciate any other insight you guys may have to offer. Many thanks.

1) where is the hospital located? There is Hospital in Dhahran and a clinic in each camp.
2) what are the avee hours per week? It varies depending on your position. Some employees work normal business hours, others work shifts.
3) what uniform items do I need to bring?e.g. Shoes, fob, stethoscope No idea now that its under Johns Hopkins, but when it was under Aramco all was provided.
4) where are healthcare workers usually housed? Medical is now under Johns Hopkins, they are currently working on housing for their employees.
5) what is the commute time to work? Depends on where you are housed. If you are on camp its only a few minutes. If you're off camp there's no telling.
I would appreciate any other insight you guys may have to offer. Many thanks.
The medical branch of Aramco (SAMSO) signed a joint venture with Johns Hopkins International to form JHAH (Johns Hopkins Aramco Healthcare). Since its still pretty new a lot of the details have not been made public. Hopefully your recruiter can tell you more.

o there, I have recently joined this forum and this is my first post. I have been hired as an EMS Consultant for an initial period of 9 months and I would be travelling from UK to Dhahran In early April. I was issued my visa today by the Saudi Embassy in London. It's a 6 month Business visa with multiple enteries allowed but the duration of stay is stated as 30 days. Does this mean I would need to exit and then enter again after each 30 day period? Also, it says "work is not permitted"... Contract department says that this is the type of visa on which they hire all temporary staff...
Any ideas/ suggestions?...thank you

Twofeets thank you very much for your response. I appreciate it. I've just heard back from my recruiter and I'll be housed at Dhahran in a single female studio apartment within an apartment block for single females.

I have been told that I am being placed in Steinke Hall... I arrive to KSA on the 4th of April (first time in Saudi)... Is this a bachelor accomodation?... I believe I am being placed there for 9 months...
Can anyone guide me about the facilities in Steinke Hall? What sort of rooms do they have/offer...Do rooms share a kitchenette/ living area...is there Wifi or Internet facilities... how far is it from the hospital... are there any facilities nearby for grocery shopping/ food etc..
Any insight about the Hall itself or its surrounding area and facilities would be a great help... Thank you...

Steineke Hall is the hotel like accommodation in DHA. It is usually temporary housing. It is a couple of blocks from the dining hall, commissary and Al Majamma building. You could walk to the hospital and clinics, but will be hot in the summer.

Just a couple more queries for those who know. Do healthcare workers have to undertake exams for a licence to practice in Saudi Arabia? If yes, would it be similar to the USA NCLEX exams? How soon after arriving would the exam be undertaken?

Hi, I know that at a previous hospital western trained nurses did not have to sit the SCFHS exam but other nationalities did, I am not sure about JHAH. I assume that its down to SCFHS and not individual hospitals, so it will depend on your nationality and level of training. I'm sorry I can't be of more help.
