I noticed that a position I was interviewed for a year ago, that is still hanging after payslip submission, is advertised twice now, the latest advert this January 2015. What does that imply? does it mean that the pending hiring is closed?? :?: I thought SA will update the candidate after the interview whether positive or negative??? Please, who has the answers to reduce the confusion.

Positions are not unique, several people have the same position name, actually some positions are common in several departments (usually geographically separated, like field geology or reservoir engineering), people can be interviewed for a position in an specific department and land in another department, with the exact same position name

Deftans,
Thanks for the reply, I am talking about a specific case of mine.
I want to know if SA closes a process without informing the person involved?
Standingby for one year after interview without any offer seems to have been cancelled.
I am just wondering if it is common. Please has anyone experienced this?? More answers please.

Departments have requisitions for positions and they can be filled or dropped as per their interests or needs, they can also decide fo hold and fill them the following year.
In your case I would contact the recruiter, even if you have done so, and ask what is going on. They are in contact with the group's HR person in KSA and can shed some light.
Good luck.

One thing funny about SA is that they will not update you on the process. Even when a process is unneccessarily delayed, you can let the affected person be informed of the situation. It helps.

I was interviewed by a panel of 4 people last year October for a job that was advertised. To my surprise I have not heard anything from Saudi ARAMCO nor the Recruiter in Houston. I sent a couple of e-mail to recruiter, but no reply.
They should let me know in case I passed or failed. I was left in the cold . Now the same job was advertise again in March 2015.
My question is this - Should I apply again ?. Would I be consider for Interview again?. Sould I submit the same Resume/CV again for this job or modify by Resume/cv
Please help to answer this question
Regards
Victor

Hi Victor,
My personal opinion is if they paid to fly you to Houston for an interview, and they chose not to hire you after the interview, either they chose to hire someone else, they cancelled the position, or they did not find any suitable candidates (you and others they interviewed simply were not what they're looking for.)
Although there's no harm in applying again for the exact same position, remember there is a limit to the number of active applications you can submit (search the Forum for that topic.) If the CV you submitted was unsuccessful, it might need to be refreshed with some changes/updates...Just my thoughts.
Good luck.

Posting same job doesn't necessarily mean that you were unsuccessful, sometimes department may post multiple positions for the same job, they may need two or more same positions in the department, they might be posting for 2015 budget year and if they have not declined by telling you in writing or by phone then there is still hope, just wait patiently and keep in touch with your recruiter by sending emails after 2-3 weeks.

Also, same job les can be in different departments. I agree, email every 2-3 weeks asking for information and telling them of your continued interest in working for Aramco, you will probably only get a response when they know something.
You could apply to the new posting. You are only allowed 3 or 4 submissions, so choose wisely. And then it patience, patience, patience time.
