We are a family of 3 (son - 9yo, 4th grade) and are just about 1-1/2 weeks away from arriving into Saudi (Rakah) from Houston and wanted clarification/confirmation of some items:
1.Can you please advise on the SAS157 Form Acceptance Notice (what is that?)
2. Can you please provide the School Registrar Contact information and is there a school admission confirmation for my son (Sheheryar Shaikh - GRADE 4)
3. What are the bed sizes so I may get extra bed-sheets? From the photos and what I have read on the forum, the master has a king bed, the children's room has two twins, but is the bed in the guest queen or full? What are the dimensions?
4. What is the largest size of microwave oven that will fit on the kitchen counter? I also read that the kitchen and laundry room have 220V. Does that mean that the kitchen can only handle 220V appliances?
5. Are a washer and dryer provided? If not, what do people do until they get them?
6. Is a TV provided?
7. What food items, if any did you pack in the E-boxes? Any recommendations?
8. Did anyone not individually label each of their items in the shipment with their name and still receive everything? Does anyone have any recent experience of this to share?
9. Any items we should bring along with us that we cannot get there? Anything else we should know or be mentally prepared for?
10. Are there any spouse activities or a spouse meet and greet/welcome coffee upon arrival? It would be great to connect with some of you!
Looking forward to a new life and new friendships. Thank you for your help.

SAS157 Form Acceptance Notice: Is this a form or a letter of acceptance from the school? If the latter it is exactly this - a letter of acceptance for your sons place at school. However, be prepared to reapply when you get here - ie have all school reports, vaccination details and so forth to hand. For my daughter going into K3 it meant diddly squat to have this letter - we had to supply all the paperwork again.
School Registrar Contact information: Wait until you have arrived.
bed sizes: Master bed is a king 76 in × 80 in Second bed is a queen 60 in × 80 in Children's room is two standard single beds (39 in × 75 in) Getting sheets here to fit is difficult, so bring some with you.
microwave oven and 220V appliances: When we arrived there were both 220V and 110V outlets in the kitchen. Residents could then select two further circuits to be changed out of a possible four into total. However, because it is probable you will move into a previously occupied property, the setup may well depend on what the previous residents have selected - you can have this changed. So if you need 110V in the kitchen, call the care centre and they can make the switch for you.
I can't answer the question about the microwave readily - it's a big kitchen, there is room for big ones but it depends on where you want to position it.
washer and dryer: Washer and dryer are provided
TV provided: No, you must supply your own. However, US TV's need to be adapted to work out here and you might require special equipment to do this. If you are thinking of bringing your existing set, search the forum for more information on this (I don't know very much about it)
food items: Processed foods are difficult for people to get hold off - or expensive. If you normally cook from scratch you will have no problems finding what you need. But if you like snacks, you will find these harder to come by.
not individually label each of their items in the shipment: We didn't label anything, but shipment from UK. All was in order. We didn't back anything very much like DVDs which might be scrutinized and muddled up
items we should bring and anything else we should know or be mentally prepared for: Come with a positive mental atude, prepared to roll up your sleeves and get stuck into community life. Be prepared to "make your own" and "do it yourself" with pleasure and you will have no problems settling in. There are lots of things you can't get here, but nothing serious you cannot live without (afaik). "In this world it is not what you take up but what you give up that makes you rich"
spouse activities or a spouse meet and greet/welcome coffee: There is a regular coffee morning Wednesdays from 10am in the Snack Bar
