What are the options for a US curriculum for grades 10-12 that are local to the Dharan compound or where there is secure bus transport to a school just outside the compound? I am hopeful for a situation where he can return home daily, as they do here in the US. I am not looking for a boarding school option, as we are a close family.
Thank you for this great forum with so much useful information!

Dhahran Academy is the only local option I am aware of. It is off-site, a short bus ride away on the American Embassy land.
You might also consider weekly boarding school options in Bahrain with a weekly commute. This works well for some.

The Dhahran Academy's real name is International Schools Group (ISG) Dhahran High School. It is currently on the U.S. Consulate grounds about 8 - 10 minutes outside the main gate of Dhahran compound.
The U.S. Department of Defense High School in Bahrain will allow U.S. high school students in if the classes are not full. The Aramco students who go there must board during the week and can come home on the weekend.
