Hi, Just want to confirm the possibility of the family visiting and staying in the bachelor status apartment assuming you have not taken the offered family status? I know that when you are ready for the family status, it will be given. I just want to confirm if it is allowed for the family to visit you in Saudi Arabia and stay in your bachelor status apartment. Furthermore, nobody is talking about field allowance, are there no field allowance when you stay 7/7 at the location. Won't there be an allowance for the 7 days spent at a location. Waiting for the wonderful help as usual.

I can't really answer either of your questions. but, I do know that those who work in the plants and stay there during the week do get paid more money for that.

I have no idea about the "field allowance" but as far as visiting family being allowed in bachelor accommodation, it depends on what accommodation you have and how many family members will be coming.
You have to submit a form to housing and they have to agree that your accommodation is suitable. If you only have an apartment you will not be able to accommodate as many people as if you had a house, for example.
Also there may be some rules regarding family being allowed in bachelor housing. It may or may not be permitted. I understand that male visitors (even husbands) are not allowed to stay as visitors in the female bachelor apartment blocks.

Housing does have to sign off on all visitors staying with anyone in their accommodation. Yes, I know children and wives who have stayed with bachelors in some of the bachelor quarters. As stated, it will depend on your assigned accommodation.

Also on your reply can you say what aspect of the assigned accommodation dictates whether visitors are permitted? I've read elsewhere on the forum that there's a policy of max occupancy of 2 per bedroom. I've received an offer of employment GC15 on Bachelor status, the only stumbling block is whether my family (wife + 2 kids) can visit during school holidays. The agent doesn't think this is possible, suggested RAA instead, and requested I take this up with the relocation adviser. I've asked for clarification and need a better level of understanding on this situation before accepting the offer. I believe it would be much better for my family if they could visit on camp rather than elsewhere, even I could obtain a better standard of housing with RAA. Any info would be greatly appreciated!.

As far as I am aware RAA is no longer available for new recruits. You will find it very challenging to achieve the family living here with you if you are on bachelor status.
Renting a place in Bahrain during the holidays is a more likely workable solution for you I suspect. A number of people commute from there on a daily basis and you could do the same during the holidays. Obviously this extra expense is something you would have to consider...

I received the offer and there were some aspects of EAP that I didn't understand, it's better than I thought, therefore we've decided to accept family status. Thanks again for the comments, it did help with the decision making.
