Hi,
Can anyone please advise whether it is necessary to bring original documents with me into KSA? I had birth certificates (entire family), marriage cert., qualifications etc. in mind. Are original docs required for purchasing a vehicle, enrolling kids to a International/British school or opening a bank account for instance (or for any other purpose)? Or will copies be sufficient? I have multiple photocopies of all the above and was planning to bring them for all necessary formalities, and keep all the originals safe in the country of origin.
I would be grateful for any advice, thanks in advance.

I am not sure if you are in the US or Canada but in US you can get certified Birth Certificates by paying $25 something (Can't remember the exact amount but I got two copies for my son while he was born). This way you keep the originals in your home country while bring the certified ones to KSA.

It might be practical to order an additional "original" to keep in a secure location with you in KSA regardless. We've had a few unexpected and unforeseen requests/needs for original documents when we've lived overseas before. (So now we have two copies of our marriage certificate, our birth certificates, etc.).

Thank you. I'm from the UK, due to travel tomorrow morning to the KSA so have opted to bring the originals with me. I guess I can make additional original copies when I next return to the UK for a visit etc.
Cheers.
