I have a 90-day visa expiring in January 2015. For solid reasons, I can only travel to the KSA right before the expiry date of the visa (i.e., 1-2 days before). I have been informed by my Relocation Adviser that I would face 'immigration risks' as a result of my departure date being too close to visa expiry, though the respective professional was unwilling /unable to comment on the nature and / or extent of such risks. As a result, I would be grateful if I could receive some advice / recommendation on the following: 1. is there anything such a 'risk-free date' for the initial travel to the KSA, independent of considerations pertaining to repatriation vacation rules? 2. what sort of 'immigration risks' apply in the above scenario (e.g., being sent back home, etc.)?
Many thanks and regards, MaxRom

Well, a rather obvious risk would be travel delays. Even if you're not coming from somewhere impacted by winter weather in January, flights to/from places that are can still impact you. I would be very nervous about planning to arrive a day or two before my visa expired.

The risk is that you would not be allowed to enter the country if your visa expired because of flight delays. You would be told to return to where you came from.
Experience of friends who tried to come back in after their visa expired while they were out of kingdom.
