We are currently living in US, our 2 boys are doing Hifz and schooling in a local Mosque. We would like to know if there are any kids doing memorization in Rakah or Dhahran camp. How does the schedule looks like? How far are the schools? Do they offer regular schooling? Please msg me if your child is doing or did hifz in that area. Thank you

We don't have kids so we wouldn't know but my wife is joining a hifz program with a friend from Rakah compound. I will ask her if kids are also accommodated but last I remember she said it was for adults only. I will ask a coworker whose lived on the main camp for 10 years, maybe she can suggest something. Alhumdulillah, this is KSA You will find the right program for your kids, but I will check for you, insh.

We certainly don't have any doubt about that, we just needed more information how it works eg timings, language, schooling etc. It would be great if we connect with somebody who went through this. A madrassa where ladies are doing hifz sounds great, I hope they take kids too. Many Best wishes for your wife. Ameen.

I'm currently in the early stages of the on-boarding process (BI and medical), so there's a long way to go, but I have been advised that my family and I will most likely start off in Ar-Rakah. My wife and I are prepping our eldest son (7 years old) for hifz, so this topic is near and dear to our hearts.
Have there been any updates regarding hifz programs for boys in or near Ar-Rakah?
We currently homeschool in the US, but that may not be feasible for a variety of reasons, so I'm also wondering how feasible it would be to send him to the Aramco school in the main camp and find an after-hours hifz program until he's ready for full-time hifz, in sha .
Thank you

It may not be feasible at all unless you find a private teacher or a masjid that is doing it from Maghrib to Isha time. I don't know about the EP, but in Riyadh the memorization programs are usually after asr until maghrib....because that fits perfectly with the Saudi schools. Aramco schools finish about the same time as asr prayer.
You will probably be able to find someone who can clearly answer your question on facebook. There are lots of groups for expats living in Saudi. Search 'khobar' 'dhahran' 'eastern province'

Aoa! So we finally relocated and at the moment located in Rakkah. Ramadan started soon after our arrival and everything went hiatus. With a lot of effort we have concluded few things. 1. There is only one full time madrassa (urdu speaking) for boys in Khober. There are 3-4 teachers for 90+ kids. Our boys are due to give test in couple of days. IF they have spot for them they will insh start here. Few issues in this madrassa is transportation. It starts at 7am till 4pm break kids go home then 4pm till 7pm. As much as we would like them to join full time hifz, we are concerned for 25min ride 4 times a day from Rakkah. and finding reliable driver.
2. The other option is part time hifz. In this option you can either have someone come to your house after school OR send kid to masjid from either asr to magrib or maghrib to isha. This although not the most ideal situation is most common here. We are concerned for kids being overwhelmed with both education at the same time, but since many people do it insh we will manage too. This option takes more time too to finish.
3. Unfortunately we haven't found any people currently whose kids are doing hifz in the compound. We are still looking, so Insha when you come plz make contact. We can together work something.
good luck!

Maria - JAK!
Our boys never did pick up Urdu beyond a few words, as I'm not a native speaker. They're stronger in Arabic, but nowhere close to fluent. I figure living out there will be a decent opportunity to pick up both, in sha .
If I were to PM you my wife's contact, would you be amenable to reaching out to her? She has a million questions and nobody on the ground to ask while we wait for the contingency results.

Waiyakum! ofcourse I would love to connect! My kids don't speak urdu only familiar with it, but we can not speak Arabic at all at the moment. So if your kids can speak/understand Arabic you can have so many options of Arabic madrassa's.
