Hi there
This is my first ever post, so bear with me!
Does anyone know how I can collect our dog from the airport if it takes a while to get a Saudi license?
We are due to arrive in Saudi Arabia on 13th October, we will be living at Abqaiq.
I am struggling with the mountain of paperwork to import our dog from the UK to Saudi. (I have just sent an email to the address suggested on the main forum page - thanks for the tip vpainter).
I think our dog will have to follow us at a later date as we won't be arriving at Damman until 9pm (first flight at 8am) and we are staying at Heathrow the night before. We have a 16 month old as well, so we don't want to be waiting around at Damman once we arrive, especially at that time of night.
(Pooch flights not booked yet as am trying to reach summit of mountain of paperwork)
It's fine, as my parents can look after our dog and get her to either the airport or the carriers.
However, we won't have a car/license for a while once we arrive. I was hoping the dog would follow us within a week/fortnight max - but how would we then collect her?
I have never done this type of thing, so I assume she would stay in her crate or at least we would have to take away the empty crate to our house? Or can we ditch the crate and bring her in the back of any vehicle?
Or are there any taxis that would be big enough to get her/the crate on? Or any companies that could deliver her?
Our other issue is the import paperwork, as I have to contact the National Department of Wildlife and Development for it, but their phone number is constantly engaged and I have googled them, but I can't find any email address. As I say, I have contacted the email address from the main Forum page tip, but if anyone knows a way to do this I'd be grateful.
Also, if anyone has done this process recently from the UK and could give me any pointers, I'd be most grateful. Most posts I have read seem to be USA-KSA which is different process.
Many thanks all
Vic
