Hi
Can anyone predict how the housing situation would be for new hires arriving early next year for working in Dhahran?
Is Aramco building any new compound / leasing any new block of flats soon?
Is Dhahran Tower going to be full by end of this year?

No one can tell you, but there is a new leased compound coming the end of this month or in Nov. people move in and out of all the compounds as housing is available.

I am flying to KSA beginning of November.
I don't know where I will be placed yet.
My main concern is about the possibility to bring my own furniture. I know this is not allowed in DT. What about the new compound? It will come fully furnished as well?

I'm not sure if it is still the case, but my understanding is that the housing comes furnished and they are rent free for 4 months only. After that you have to pay rental fee. I am taking my bed, a futon, a sofa and some cabinets from USA.
You should have been given your moving enlement weight. Mine was over 4k lbs. So, on top of the furniture I've mentioned above, I am bringing my bicycle, a sewing machine, and some kitchen items like microwave oven.
