I just wanted to check if there's any place to purchase Saudi cellphone sim cards on Rakah, or would I need to go to the DH compound to get one?

Dhahran, I am afraid.
The good news is that whether or not you are working in the core area or Al Midra then there are places very close where you can get prepay sim cards once you have Aramco ID.
You can top these up (certainly for STC but not sure about Mobily or Zain) in the commissary in Rakah, though.
