Good evening all,
I was asked to submit a resume by a senior project manager. I did that and then had my initial phone interview inside of a week. The PM has since indicated it went very well and he had forwarded whatever paperwork he has to send to HR, TO HR, stating my particular skill-set is a "critical need" and that I'm to be hired.
It's now coming up on the start of the second week, post-interview. I know, I know - "patience, grasshopper", but I'm on tenterhooks, as well as reading the stories of months upon months of zero contact with a great deal of trepidation!
I'm wondering if anyone else has dealt with similar situations? I've not run across that particular "critical need" wording in any other posts.
Thanks in advance for anyone who has information!

Sometimes, but not all the time, a critical need can be expedited through the hiring process. But will truly depend on if the government cooperates with the visa. So the hiring process may go fast, but could not.
Sorry, there is no sure answer for you.

Thank you vpainter - I've figured that out based on the responses to others, but it's always nice to hear "patience" from someone else! I'm tickled I found this forum, actually. There's a wealth of information here! Kudos to you and the other moderators for overseeing all of this!

Okay - timeline so far:
Aramco requested resume - 08/09/2014 Initial Interview via Skype - 08/28/2014 Initial Contact by ASC requesting "additional information" (& info sent) - 11/04/2014 Second Contact by ASC, approved to offer, additional info required (info sent) - 02/11/2015 ASC informed me their offer is OTW, expect 2-3 business days to arrive - 02/12/2015 Formal offer package email received - 02/16/2015 Formal offer package received - 02/23/2015 Formal offer package returned - 02/25/2015 Relocation Advisor assigned - 02/26/2015 BI Initiated - 03/05/2015 Badge# assigned & tentative ETA given - 03/10/2015
Keeping this for my own timeline as well as possibly "adding to the pile" for the "it takes what it takes, all timelines are normal" reality-check folks! I'll be up......... this post as things progress.

Hi Flifca,
I can't speak for any timeline other than my own. As outlined, I found out the BI had initiated as there were a couple of questions put to me by the investigator. I found out about the badge# because the relocation advisor sent me an email introducing herself, telling me the expected process, and giving me a tentative ETA "in Kingdom" (which has since changed).
