Hi, I am trying to get some information about the passport validity requirements for Visa processing. How long should the passport be valid for for visa application? On the same lines, what if the passport expires during the course of employment, do people renew it through US Counsulate in KSA?

Your passport should be valid for at least 6 months for placing the visa in it.
Yes, passports are renewed, pages added, etc at the Dhahran U.S. Consulate.

Passport renewal is usually very quick. I got mine back in less than 2 weeks...it might have been a week only. I can't remember, but I was shocked that I got it so fast! It took longer for my mom to renew her passport in USA than it took for me to renew mine in Saudi.
