My husband has been offered a job with Amramco at GC13. We are very excited but at the same time a little nervous. The forum has been of a great help to get a lot of our questions answered, but we have a few more and are hoping someone will help us out.
-We are told we will be housed in the Al Rakah community. We have two boys, 8 and 6 and from what I have read in the forms they will have to go to school in the main DHA compound.
It looks like the community is new and lot of comments about it being great or families with little kids. Was wondering if there are enough "big" kids (6-10 years) or if the children were really little - toddlers -preK?
-What should we expect for the monthly expenses in Al Rakah for groceries, utilities, restaurants, travel , maids? We dont indulge much and prefer home cooked meals. But if we were to travel, have activities for the kids and moderate entertainment, what should we be looking at.
-I am software professional in the US , and work in a senior post in a leading technology company. I have read about the forums about causal work for spouse, but on a longer term, I would like to find work in my technical field. Is it possible to get work in Aramco with for my skills ? I might have an option from my current employer to work remotely from there, or I might be able to find short term assignments in the US for which I can work remotely. Is this allowed in KSA or should I get any kind of visa to work remotely for an employer based in the US?
-We have parents and siblings living in India and US that we want them to visit us, is it possible for them to get multiple entry visitor visa.
-We are US citizens with Indian origin, are there any Indian families in Al-Rakah, would love to get in touch if they dont mind sharing their email.
Thanks.
