hi Folks I am a newbie to this forum and hope that members can enlighten me with practical advice on my situation which goes like this.
I am a qualified Chartered Mechanical Engg. (BEng) (with MSc in Aerospace engineer). I have been working in the UK Rail industry for the last 6.5 years. Started as a graduate engineer and worked as technical engineer, reliability engineer, production manager, maintenance manager in Railway environment. Currrently working as Certification engineer.
I am very keen to leave UK to experience and earn tax free money for good few years (may be forever) as i am familiar with life in ME. Here in the UK, my skills, experience and qualifications would be classed as transferable however i am not sure whether its the same in KSA i.e. would i be eligible to work in ARAMCO as a Reliability/Maintenance engineer or maintenance manager at refinery or any suitable job albeit my experience is in Railway. I have looked at SA vacancies and they seem to be very specialised jobs for O&G industry but i really am competent in my field and believe i can be comfortable in O&G or in any industry. (I am not overconfident, i have been lucky that i have had various position within short time and also i am a CEng)
Thanking in advance for prompt and practical advise.

I apologize but this wont help you but I can input my experience. A lot of positions I had applied to required a number of years of specific experience (typically I had seen 5 years). I'm in IT; and was applying for appropriate jobs. I didn't receive any responses until I applied for a position that I had 5+ years direct experience in. (My total professional experience is 10 years). I had the interview and rest is history.
Anyways, what I am saying is, you should apply regardless and they will determine if your experience is appropriate for the opportunity. I'm sure others will help with your question.
