HI there, Does anybody know the Aramco policy about max commuting time? I understand quite a few people commute daily from Abqaiq to Dhahran, which is 2.5 - 3 hrs round trip by bus. What if your work location is Shedgum and you have been offered housing in Dharhran Tower which is easily 4 hrs bus ride (i.e 13 hrs working day). My Visa have been sorted out and degree attestation is in progress. I am coming on family status two young kids and wife. I have not been allocated housing yet but it seems that Abqaiq is full and next available option will be Dhahran Tower. I am not sure if Aramco can put me in Dhahran Tower or will they ensure a place in Abqaiq due to this extra-ordinary commuting time. I am curious to understand if there is any Aramco policy to limit the travel time due to health and safety reasons?

hi ther, I have just found this statement on page 45 of relocation guide; " Assignment Employees are assigned housing based on availability. Employees will be eligible to bid to change house after completing 2 years of continuous service. In the event housing is not available in the employee’s work location, housing may be provided in other adjacent locations which are within commuting distance (80 km)."
Can Anbody shed more light on it, any practical experiences will be well appreciated. Regards

Does Shedgum have housing? Maybe your family housing will be in ABQ or Dhahran Towers, but you will stay during the week at your work location. Unfortunately, I don't know anything about Shedgum so I cannot help you much.
