o all, I will be travelling the next 29/10 (we are just waiting for flight tickets) with my husband and my 3 years old daughter. if anyone can help me, I have some questions:
2- Looks like everybody can see from DT the new building.
3- Does anyone done any research about external compounds?. We have some information but it is not the same when you look at them just in pictures.
I rather prefer a big compound so I could drive my daugther to school everyday .

I may be assigned Dhahran Tower, probably arriving in late October. My wife and 8 yrs old kid will join me in December. My kid will attend school in Bahrain so I'll need to be as close to the causeway as possible. How long does it take from the tower to the causeway? Is it too far away? Or are there any other rental compounds closer to the causeway so that the commute for my son is not so heavy?
Thanks for the feedback.

O&GEngg and Nemo Thank you very much for the answers.
I am considering to take the rental allowance and try to get a house in the Euro village compound. I still don't get why people don't think about that option if they are not happy in the tower. I understand they even have a International school so my daughter won't need to get a bus every day to go to school.
The other option is keep waiting until the DT is full but our visas expire the 24/11 and I am not sure if the new compound will be ready anyway. Also, I don't think the new compound came with school so the issue with my daughter taking the bus will be there as well.

dave74,
Tower to Causeway.... 15-20 minutes drive. I cannot comment on other rental compounds. From what I have heard others say, rentals are tight all over and the accommodation at the tower is "far superior" to local compounds. Again, I am just repeating what I have heard. I have not visited nor researched.

Hi
Does anyone mind sharing some 'real' photos of their apartment? Preferably those which show layout and decor as it was on arrival.
Finally - what size beds do the Towers have? US King or US Queen in the master bedroom (I know Rakah has US Kings).
Thanks

Looks like from postings already we are on the cusp of will be/not being placed there as we come over in Mid-Late Oct.
To be honest, without knowing who will arrive from now to when we land, I guess the information wont be 100% useful. More a case of "has it definitely all gone already"?
Thanks

Hi Pat1703 have you consider to rent your own property, for example Euro Village. I think you probably can discuss with Aramco to pay for it. I think this could be an option.
Good Luck!

Good morning!
We have now received great news from Houston that our passports have been stamped and have received final clearance letter! Our relocator is currently working on our flights and housing, with a departure date around 26November. Its coming up fast!
Hubby is an electrical engineer with work location in Dhahran main camp. I believe he is gc 13, family status :-) ( we have 1 son, aged 2)

Fishfash - when do you arrive in country? Is your flat # in DT? We are 13 days out an have not heard where they will house us. Waiting "patiently". :-) We are end of Oct, so wondering if we will be one of the 1st few in Radium. Initially, we were told Rakah, but that has not been confirmed.

I really appreciate a feedback on the following: 1- Do you know of families with more than 2 kids living in the Dhahran tower? I have 3 kids. 2- Are there apartments with 3 bedrooms in the tower? 3- Another compound called the Radium has already been added Aramco compounds, do you know if any Aramco new comers live there now? Any idea of the distance between the Radium and the main Dhahran compound
Thank you very much

fishfash,
your apt is the larger of the 2 bedroom units. It has a gulf view. So, unless you were expecting a 3 bedroom, this is as good as it gets here at DHTower! You will enjoy the sunrise from your large kitchen with lots of windows. Outside the 2 bedrooms is a hallway that is almost the size of a room - in ours we have a large desk and a huge IKEA cabinet unit. I encoue you to get connected to our residents association as soon as you can - lots of resources on the Facebook page and lots of fun events happening. (Unfortunately Aramco hasn't been able to add to the welcome package).

Hi All,
I have sent our passports in this week. At the time when I was offered a position with Aramco (July 2014), I was told that we will be placed in a 2/3 bed apartment in the tower. Does that still look likely with the availability? If not where are they placing other families? From what I have read on the other topics on this forum, is that life in the tower is not ideal, with driving, amenities, localities etc. especially in comparison to those living in the camp. Is it really that far off? I am not sure how long it will take from here once the passports have been submitted but I am not willing to resign from my current role unless I am absolutely certain about the accommodation, I think it will be too much of a risk..... any thoughts?
