o to all in this forum. After accepting my offer and with pretty much all sorted out ,including clearance letter from aramco, visa, flight tickets, I was notify about housing assigned to be smaller than what it Is stated in the policy ( family of 5) we were assigned a 2 bedrooms apartment. I have given my employer the notice, however aramco came to me and said that housing is upon availability and that I should not give notice to my present employer until they confirm housing ( again I received the letter two weeks before I actually gave notice to my employer). I am seriously thinking about decline the offer because I feel too much uncertainty with respect to what to expect after from aramco. I want to know if any of you have heard a similar case and what could be the consequences of doing so.
Thanks, Rigo

If you declined the offer, you wouldn't be coming to work for Aramco. Be sure to tell them it is because of the housing.
If you were to apply again, the housing situation will be the same as it is now. Depending on availability when you arrive.

Have you talked with your Relocation Advisor about this? Being told not to give notice until after they confirm housing... AFTER you have been assigned a 2 bedroom... sounds like there's some miscommunication.
From my limited experience, I know there are many people who help with this process. I've received conflicting information, too. But when I press for clarification they always clear it up. And of course, this week is the end of Ramadan, so the whole Saudi office is closed, if I recall.
You already have flight tickets. Why back down now? Even if you get into a small house, it would be temporary until they can place you appropriately. Best of luck!

Could you ask if your assigned housing might not actually be "two bedrooms + den that can be used a completely functional bedroom"?

Dear all, I will appreciate if you can share your recent experience regarding housing allocation practice. Do Aramco confirm housing before asking you to resign? I am facing similar circumstances and have been told by reloc advisor that I will have to serve the notice (4 weeks notice with current employer) before housing confirmation; and housing will be confirmed a week before arrival. there is only one housing community near my work location, which is 50-60 minutes (round trip) bus ride. next available option is 3-4 hrs (round trip) bus ride from work. Obviously I do not want to resign before confirmation of housing as I cannot travel 3-4 hrs/day. I would be grateful if you guys can share your experience and knowledge Best regards

I have known of other case just like yours Rigoberto, the applicant, during his process has been informed of three different housing places and the last one was to the tower for a 2 bedroom apartment being also a family of five. I hope this person can share his experience here. Is his story to tell.
Housing, as mentioned, it has become a big issue, it seems that there's a disconnection between the needs for personnel and the housing department to have a place for the mass of new hires coming here.
I don't know what they will have to do but I guess that there will be families caught between a rock and a hard place.
I've heard of many cases of newcomers sent, at the last minute, to other housing arrangements that the one promised.
Best of luck to all.

Hi Rigoberto,
I just faced the same issue, family of 5 and told to go to a 2 bedrooms apartment, after a lot of thinking I decided to go ahead with the relocation and we will find out over there if it is comfortable for us or if we move to a non aramco compound.
Best of luck

My 2 cents, Stay outside aramco complex as it will be temporary anyway untill they found the appropriate house for you inside aramco complex.
Cheers

Hey all - cgyguy was referring to my family and I (family of 5 - kids aged 2, 4, 6). While we don't entirely trust what ASC has told us we are still going though with the process. We decided that the pro's of working for Saudi Aramco outweigh the cons of not taking the opportunity. There is A LOT more to this story but I'm not willing to share it over a public forum. Let's just say that there was much back-and-forth between my wife and I whether or not we should continue with the process.
I guess we'll see what actually happens on Aug. 15 when we arrive.

Just know, if you stay outside the Aramco complex or assigned housing, your kids can not attend Aramco schools.
