Can I purchase a SIM card for my IPhone on the compound?

You can purchase a SIM card from any of the cellular vendors in Dhahran; STC is at the al Mujamma building and all three (STC, Mobily and Zain) at at the al Midra tower. You will need an iqama to get a SIM card, although it is often possible to get one with a temporary ID through STC during your orientation. You can also get a SIM card at any cellular store in the Kingdom, but an iqama is required. When you get the SIM card you will need to purchase some credit as well (i.e. prepaid) or you can do a post-paid (contract). The cellular companies have all the details and can provide all three SIM card sizes.

I don't have the iqama yet and was able to buy three SIM cards for our phones. You need the copy of your stamped visa and passport and your temporary badge but we did it at the STC in Al-Mujama building (don't worry you will be familiar with this building the day of your orientation).
