The houses seem to be a lot bigger than the apartments. How can they accommodate the same number of people. Something doesn't seem right.

I think your perspective of how large the homes are on the Aramco compounds is off.
The DT only has 6 apartments per floor.

Based on the dimensions supplied on their website, a 3 bed apartment in DT is about the same floor space as a villa in Rakah. A house in Rakah is bigger than equivalent in Dharhan.

We visited a 4 bedroom "town house" style accommodation recently assigned to a newcomer in Dhahran. He has 3 children. While the accommodation is "ok" I would say if the same family had been placed in DH Tower in a 3 bedroom they would have more space - much larger and nicer kitchen (gas 5 burner stove, way more counter space, way more room to work, etc), bigger windows with more light, one more bathroom (I think), much bigger and nicer master suite (huge amount of closet space). We have the larger floor plan of the 2 bedrooms and I was super worried about feeling cramped and I was pleasantly surprised. The photos do not do the place justice in terms of space. Stoe of bikes and pet kennels is a bit of a challenge but we are using the "maid's space" for that. And I have just returned home after the cleaners were here and I have to say it's a pretty nice "included in your rent" feature! In one hour they are in a and out and they do a great job!

In comparing houses to villas, the former often appear larger due to their design and layout. Despite this, house vs villa are typically structured to accommodate the same number of people as apartments. They achieve this through multiple bedrooms, living areas, and sometimes additional floors or basements. The perceived difference in size may be influenced by various factors such as architectural features and layout variations.
