Hi All! My husband's offer letter is supposed to arrive in his inbox early next week, so I've been researching and Dhahran Tower seems to be a probable home for our family if we do decide to move to KSA. The photos on the Dhahran Tower website show a fitness room that looks pretty but is kind of sp - is it accurate, or is there more equipment off-camera? I'm curious to know if there's equipment for olympic lifting, power racks, kettle bells, etc.? Alternately, is there a shuttle bus from Dhahran Tower to another of the Aramco properties that has a gym better equipped for ladies who lift heavy? My fingers are crossed  |

I haven't been to the DT so cannot comment on equipment available. But yes, there are daily shuttle buses to DHA and one of the drop off points is where one of the women's gym is located. You can do heavy lifting there.

DH Tower gym is not the best place for heavy lifting to be honest. There is one smith machine, one curved weight lifting bar and a good selection of dumbbells but no proper olympic bar for example. Also the floor is lacquered wood so it would not withstand people doing deadlifts very long. Having said that the gym is perfectly adequate for lighter exercise. There are several treadmills, exercise bikes, multipurpose machines etc. All the equipment are brand new and next to the gym there is a steamroom, hot tub, outdoor pool etc which are pretty nice. |

So, Crazycatlady, what did you figure out for gymming? I am in RT and there is a gym there where we can at least do the heavy backsquats and deadlifts. But now I have been told I may have to move to Dhahran Tower or Radium. Both do not have heavy lifting capabilities.

I think that it may be inconvenient, but heading over to Dharhan is probably the answer. I have no idea what the variety of equipment available in Radium is - the photos seem to focus on treadmills :roll:
