Hi peeps,
After hearing numerous horror stories for single females, I was surprised to have had a fabulous experience upon arrival in Damman. There must've been a handful of women in the queues and I being the only Caucasian I was treated with the greates respect. Passport control was a breeze and the only 2 questions I was asked was "where did I come from and was it a nice place to live in". As a traveller that has travelled to many countries, I quickly learnt to be friendly and polite to passport control and you will be treated fairly back. Have you been through London Heathrow, you'll know what I'm talking about.
If you're flying into Doha airport be prepared to walk to the other side of the Middle East to your departure gate to Damman! It's on the other side of the airport so wear comfortable shoes and be prepared to walk.
The Aramco rep at the airport is also very helpful and friendly and the whole process is quick. I also managed to temporarily set up my mobile with Mobily. I provided my passport or in the alternative your temporary ID card which you will receive via the Aramco rep.
Ladies, do not be concerned upon arrival. If you're a first time traveller, relax, be friendly and be respectful to your surroundings. Remember to wear your abaya too, the men appeared to respect the fact you were wearing one. If course everyone's experience is different but I thought I'd share my experience with you.

Thank you for posting your experience.
Ladies, as long as you are conservatively dressed (loose clothing: loose pants or dresses covering down to ankles; blouses over the hips and sleeves covering your elbows. No low cut blouses. You will be treated with respect in the airport.
