We are debating if we should bring ceiling fans with us. Are houses in Abqaiq typically equipped to hang ceiling fan? Is it easy to find help to install ceiling fans? Or, should we just buy them in KSA?

Hi, We are in Rakah, one week today! I put a lot of attention on the "what to bring" posts and one thing that I'm happy I didn't bring was ceiling fans, no need at least here and like most people says, you find pretty much everything you want here, although 110v are hard to come by.
Things that are 110v and I consider a good investment and hassle to bring are: - video game consoles w/games. I bought cd/DVD holders and left the cases behind and brought the essentials with us, the rest in eboxes. - DVD player, other wise your DVDs won't be played here. - TV is debatable, here are dual system and dual voltage, more expensive, but not too crazy, although selection is somewhat thinner. I just bought a samsung 55" smart tv and 3D for $1600 USD. Didn't want the 3D option but couldn't find at Extra one smart tv that it wasn't 3d. Besides I was on a friend's mercy as I don't have a car. - a couple of nice frying pans will help a lot , one small and one normal size to be brought in your luggage will help a lot while you buy or get your shipment. - microwave is also debatable, you either bring it with you with things inside or buy one here, the kitchen has the perfect spot for a microwave bought here 220v. We brought us and now we have less places for our toasters, blender as we are using the other single 110v outlet left in the kitchen. - linens are ok, but not super smooth, bring yours with your eboxes or if you can't wait, in your luggage. - vacuum is a good investment as Aramco is 110v and hard to find that her, so I heard. - I bought an air purifier but now I'm wondering if I'll use it at all. I shouldn't have. - coffee maker is a 50/50, if you have it and love it bring it, check if you find capsules though, we brought ours and had great coffee the first morning. - telephones are a good idea, those cordless sets. - water cooler buy it here, there's a good spot near the kitchen with 220v, at least in Rakah. - mattresses and pillows aren't as comfy as ours, we have ours shipped but wouldn't kill us to wait a few months for them. - furniture is ok here, nothing special so it is up to each one, specially if you'll be housed in the new compounds where Aramco is not charging rent. The ones in Dhahran Tower are way nicer than the Rakah ones. - shoe rack, plastic containers, organizing baskets is good to bring it with your eboxes if you wish, but there's always Ikea here.
That's all I have for now, probably not in the right spot. But Vpainter can move it if he wishes..
Cheers
