o
I have a quick question:
Is degree attestation really a requirement for mobilising to KSA?
I know this question may seem a bit odd since Aramco do require us to get our degrees attested by Saudi Culture and Saudi Embassy in the country in which they were awarded.
There is a separate discussion group "Degree Attestation from Pakistan"; where we've discussed the mission and horrid experience of getting degrees attested by Saudi Culture in Pakistan. The gist of which is that no one is yet to contribute on the forum who has succeeded in completing his attestation process.
Reason for me asking this basic question is because I (somehow) understand that an attested degree is not a must if one is mobilising with family. Also that the requirement to show an attested degree perhaps is on your first year anniversary in KSA, when the visa / iqama is getting renewed.
One of the relocation advisors I've spoken to hinted to this as well.
Can someone please help clarify this.
Cheers!

I know at leaset one guy who is now in Kingdom without getting his degree attested from Pakistan. Actually, the Embassy that your visa is being applied can stamp a visa on your passport and request you to have it completed within a year (at the time of renewal of iqama). Aramco visa department has to talk to Saudi Embassy in UK to get this waiver for the deferral. Which means that they will likely only make this type of phone calls in rare situations. So in ususal circtumstances you will need to have it attesed but there can be exceptions if only granted by UK embassy (likely ONLY on the basis on a phone call)

Thanks amna78
I did think that is the case. This person that you know, who is in the Kingdom, did he have a second degree from outside of Pakistan that got attested instead?
Anyone else with similar experience of have heard of anything similar.

For some professionals it is a requirement to get your Iqama.
For instance if you are an Engineer you will need to have you're degree attested in order to get you registered in the Saudi Arabia Council of Engineers, that is done simultaneously to your Iqama. So you must take to Saudi your degree attestation, because it's necessary for you to get the Iqama. It's not a visa requirement, but you need to have it before you travel to KSA.
I don't know the requirements of other professionals.

The person only has a Masters Degree from KU. His visa was stamped based on his UK/Pak certified accountant membership which is generally not given any regard by Embassy. He needs to get his degree attested before he renews his iqama.

What about if I am an engineer but will not be working as an engineer but in a more administrative role (Procurement)? Do I strictly need to have my degree attested before getting my visa stamped? That is the only thing holding me up right now! All contingencies are cleared and visa le approved but degree attestation (from Venezuela) is taking forever. Very frustrating!

It depends what is stated in your visa le, if it is Engineer you will need to register in the Saudi council of engineers because you are hired an engineer. It also depends on the requiremts of the KSA embassy that you're applying your visa, as I understood from other posts.
However, in my case it was not mentioned that degree attestation is a requirement for visa stamping, but for Iqama processing. Which is ultimately mandatory to be able to perform the role I'm hired for.
The urgency in getting it is that you need to have it attested when you arrive to KSA for Iqama processing. I have mine attested, sent a copy by email to AOC London for information, but I'm holding the original documents to take to Saudi for Iqama processing when I arrive.

UK_Finance_Applicant,
Last week i requested my Reloc advisor to send my degree and marriage certificate back to me if attestation process is completed as i need them for different purpose and i will return it to them when visa block is available, she posted them back to me and she replied they don't need it until after relocation to Saudi.

I share the exact experience as EHS. Both, marriage and degree attestation are with me, to take them when I travel to the kingdom. And I'm still waiting on the visa block to get my passport stamped, but attestations were sent back to me.
