My daughter (6) has been making some pretty good progress in French at school.
When we arrive, she will be in Year 1 of the Aramco system. Is French taught in Aramco schools from Year 1? If not:
1. When does it start to be taught? And
2. Are there any French classes for children run on compound outside the school? (Thinking particularly of Rakah here)
Thanks
Keith

Elementary Foreign Language will be offered in 4th Grade onwards. They take proper foreign language in Middle School (6th Grade)

You might be able to find someone who speaks French to tutor your daughter so she doesn't lose what she's learned so far.

vPainter's tutor suggestion is a good idea. My daughter came in the middle of 4th grade already knowing some French. We enrolled her in the EFL program (classes over lunch twice a week), and I think she actually went backwards! Hopefully the real classes starting in 6th grade will bring it back. (I learned my French in 1st & 2nd grade - military brat - and it was good enough that I could be translator for my parents when they were shopping off base. My daughter has had various language classes since kindergarten & it seems they just don't teach like they did 50 years ago).

Thanks very much. I think it is a fine idea. I would imagine also that there are French kids on Rakah so the informal route can support as well. My wife would be more than happy to teach Latvian to all those that are willing.
