I checked in the FAQ but this does not seem to be covered there.
This is pretty trivial but helps with planning. Are there any clothes hangers in the house when you arrive?

I honestly don't remember, I know I have brought in hangers that I wanted because I didn't like the wire hangers that we were getting from the cleaners when we first came.
Hopefully some of the newly arrived will answer this one.

This has become something of a joke in our household. My husband had the idea that it was very difficult to buy hangers here and as a result he frantically packed a box of clothes hangers for shipping at the last minute. What with the box load and all the wire hangers that come back from the dry cleaners we are overwhelmed with hangers now.
There were no hangers when we arrived. But do not go overboard since I am sure you will find plenty of household in excess like ours, who will happily give them away. You can also readily buy the wooden variety in Ikea and I sure elsewhere.

I arrived 3wks ago into bachelor housing on DHA. There was a new pack of 10 plastic hangers...thankfully, because I didn't pack any.
I would suggest bringing enough to get by for the first 2-3wks, as you will be plenty busy getting settled-in, figuring out the stores, transportation before you will get a chance to go buy some.
Having said that, the commissary on DHA camp has plastic ones.
