Hi, My husband and I are moving to Al Rakah in July. We both are runners and wondering if there is a running group at Al Rakah? Also, are there indoor running tracks at the compound for those hot months of the year? Thank you and looking forward to finding new running buddies Sam

There are quite a few runners here, but no running club - there probably should be so please come and set one up! Not being a runner myself, I am not sure what people do in the hot weather since there are no indoor running tracks. I guess some people use treadmills in the gym, while others stick to running in the early morning and evenings to avoid the heat of the day.

Contact recreation once you arrive and have time, they will let you know how to set up an approved Running self-directed group. This will give you access to Aramco facilities for meetings, parties, security for special runs, etc for your running group.

I'm not currently a runner, but you can run up and down the streets at Rakkah. Dhahran, though, has a super cool seeming trail that might be of interest. There's construction/development right outside the compound but the corniche might be an area for men to run....maybe brave or abaya wearing women too...

I have read about that trail in Dhahran that is super beautiful, I wish it was closer to Rakah. Are there outdoor running tracks in Rakah?

No, there is not an outdoor running track in Rakah. People do run outside on the streets of Rakah.
