o,
I have been offered a position as an Engineer II in the NGL Recovery Department in Shaybah. The position is a GC 13 level. The work schedule is 5 days on and 2 days off (weekend). The work schedule assumes 12 hour days. The offere states company housing for work days residence as well as days off residence. I presume the work days residence is in Shaybah, but I'm not clear in regards to the days off residence.
I have been trying to get and answer from my recruiting contact in Houston but have not been successful.
In the event I accept the offer, I will be going as a bachelor status and will be converting to family status after one year.
Does anybody have a similar experience as mine? Would Aramco assign me a bachelor apartment in one of the communities and have me commute to Shaybah every week? From reading some of the posts in this forum, I believe this is what will happen once my wife and two kids join me in the Kingdom, but I'm not sure what will happen during my fist year while I'm on bachelor status. Being in very remote/isolated location, I'm concern that I will be stationed in Shaybah full time for one year without having the opportunity to break for the weekends in one of the four family communities.
Any advise will be appreciated.
Best Regards, mansomec

I do not know if there are any permanent housing in Shaybah. The men I know working there come back to camp for their time off.
Hopefully someone on the forum will know for sure.

Vpainter,
Thanks for the insight. Do you happen to know if the men you know are there with their families or just alone?

Shaybah is a men only camp. No women, no families, except on tour trips through SAEA or other organization.
