does anyone have any knowledge/views/hypotheses on the selection criteria for putting people in the tower? Is it, for example, based on GC or age of children or what?

Husband says:
- 2 and 3 bedroom units - 1800 sq ft, 2070 sq ft (2 bedroom units) and 2400 sq ft and 2700 sq ft (3 bedroom units) I have one child, my wife and two pets coming in mid July, GC 13 - I jumped on it as the next option might not be all that desirable. I know once these are full, Aramco has secured another condo unit in Al Khobar for the next batch of new hires. I was told virtually all camps are full except for very high GC’s, execs. Nothing in Rakah, Abqaiq, Ras Tanura, or Dhahran Camps. One of the options they are pitching heavy is out of camp living with an allowance. Not a choice I wanted to accept just being brand new - you need to utilize the bus system for the first few weeks at least, until the bewilderment starts to wear off.
I’m not sure what housing’s selection criteria is. I don’t want to be too critical, but let me just say all the other departments I have had dealings with so far seem very capable, friendly, willing to accommodate, etc, etc……except one!

We are also Canadian (Toronto), a family of 3.
We are expecting to arrive in Dammam/Dhahran in mid-late August. We will most likely be assigned to a 2 bedroom apartment in the Dhahran Tower.

80sRetread,
All I can say is you are very very wise to accept that you will not know for sure until you are there! We wasted so many emotions on worrying about where we would be and in end it's someplace we never even imagined! It is still a bit surreal to think we'll be living in an apartment in a city with views of the Persian Gulf. Hubby face times me and I watch the sun rise up over the horizon! High end hotels with lovely dining options are just minutes away. Many unexpected delights help adjust to the "unexpectedness of it all".
