We are relocating to Aramco. As a back up... just in case, can someone please recommend a great high school with American curriculum in Bahrain or Dubai? My daughter is going to be starting 11th grade for fall of 2014/2015. We are relocating from Katy Texas.
Thank you.

The back up is in case she doesn't get in at the Dhahran High School?
There is an American curriculum school in Bahrain that some Aramco kids go to. It is the Department of Defense High School. It is a school Aramco kids board during the week and come home on the weekends.

You might see what is available in Doha, Qatar. It is much wealthier (per capita) than other nations in the middle east and has a pick of international schools. I am not aware of any US curricula boarding schools, though.

wonderk,
We were just informed that DHS is full, and my stepson is on the waiting list for fall 2014. We are looking at other options, but concerned about transportation. We are slated for Rakah, but nothing is certain, so I'm thinking a full-time driver might be the only solution for wife and kids! Especially if we are placed in the Dhahran Tower in Khobar.
PM me if you'd like the list of local high schools that we were given.

I too have a daughter entering 11th grade in the fall. We were put on the waiting list for DHS so we applied to the Bahrain International school. She will board during the week and come home on the weekends. We got our acceptance from the Bahrain school yesterday. We are coming from Texas as well.
