Hi,
I have gone through a lot of the posts but have not come across any information about the size of the washers and dryers Aramco provides. We are considering buying new ones here in the US and shipping them over but wanted to understand what we were getting in terms of size (Here we have a 4.4 cu. ft washer and 7.2 cu. ft dryer). We like bigger for a number of reasons, efficiency and lower water usage.
Thanks,

I recently got rid of the washer and dryer that I was renting from Aramco. They have changed contractors and the brand new washer I received wouldn't rinse the soap out of the towels. Others have them and say their's work just fine. Not much choice on the dial: no second rinse. Dryers did not have a low setting.
My recommendation: buy and bring your own.

We bought and brought washer/drier with us, and don't regret it. The only issue is that the washer/drier alcove in our Dhahran Hills house is only 65" wide and 31 1/2" deep. So our largish w/d fit, but I had to pull the folding doors off the front of the alcove - it's a bit ugly having the alcove open to the breakfast nook. I need to fix that, but have been lazy so far. Of course, I have no idea what size alcove is typical in other houses in Dhahran main camp, and no idea at all for other compounds.
I did not manage to find the cubic feet on the equipment, but they're on the upper side of the LG models from a couple of years ago, it that helps.

All, What about of the washer and dryer in Rakkah? Are of the same quality than what Vpainter mentions for the ones in the main camp?
Thanks

Sent you an email previously with contacts, best if you talk to someone using them.

Hi there,
I'm going to be based in UDH, can anyone advise on the washer/dryer in the single apartments?

All,
Thank you. I will bring mine. I am going to buy something new to minimize probability of repair. That said, if repair does come up my understanding is that aramco won't fix correct? If so, I would probably have to go outside camp to get repairs done. I imagine all the major brands have representation but are there some that are more prevalent (I am considering whirlpool/maytag)
Thanks

Aramco will now work on your private washer and dryers for a fee. They may not have parts though. The brand new washer and dryer we brought with us was a Kenmore, aramco fixed it a couple of times when I brought in the parts.
There are also repairmen in the local community you can call.
Hopefully someone else will know the brands for sale in the local community. I know there is a Sears store and there are LG and Frigadaire. Probably there are other brands, too.
