Hi there I had a video interview in late May '14. I am based in Saudi Arabia and was contacted by the Team @ Expatriate Employment Division, Dhahran for the post I applied was for E&PM.
The interview lasted for 1.5 hours. It started with my experience elaboration and afterwards... the whole interview was technical, going deep into the core concepts and application, I would say tough one. At the end of the interviewer told me that he has more questions on his table, however, this session will be enough. ( at the forum I have not read single such experience)
I asked him in the end about the job details then he apologised for not introducing himself, finally he did and informed that he is going to be selected candidate's manager.
My questions are: 1. Is this normal to have such long and detailed interview? 2. When should I reach the recruitment team for any update? Also Should I or not? Is it decent in Aramco culture to call or send follow up email?

Any time length of interview is normal, depends on the person or people doing the interview and the department.
You can keep in touch with your recruiter every 2 - 4 weeks by email or phone call. Does not mean you will get a reply by email and if you contact by phone, you will probably leave a message and you may not get a call back until they have something to tell you. This is normal.

Hi Vpainter,
I have a follow up question to your above answer. If you're not successful with the interview, do you get told in a few days or within a week? Does a longer silence/wait translate to having a brighter chance?
Thank you

I had a phone interview with a Department in Jazan in which I was told (by a recruiter from the Houston office) that they'll schedule me for a face-to-face interview if my phone interview is successful. Well, it was successful. I was contacted by the recruiter in about 2 week's time that the Department would like to schedule a face-to-face interview with me in Houston. The interview date was confirmed and just a couple of days to the interview date, I was told the face-to-face interview has been cancelled but they'll schedule an online 'Hirevue' interview. A couple of days later, I was told they needed my skype ID which I provided and was told the interview was confirmed with date provided. interestingly, on the day of the interview no one called. I sent an email to the recruiter (after waiting for 20 minutes) to check if the Department was having issues contacting me via skype. Did't get any feedback for a while so I called the recruiter and was told 'I'm trying to contact them.' After an hours time, i sent an email to the recruiter inquiring if I should continue to wait or if the interview could be rescheduled. I was told not wait. I know that patience is required in this whole hiring process but my question is - what could be going on? has anyone experienced something like this before? Will appreciate any feedback

I'd to wait in the queue patiently and technical issues with the interview software kept popping up. We ended up cutting our conversation short.
