Hi, I have a question to ask, I just received an email from ASC requesting me to choose which housing option/status I would need (various options, single, bachelor, married/family, etc).
The issue I have is, although I am a US Citizen, my wife has a green card and will have it for another 2 years. I do not want to take a chance of having her return every 5 - 6 months trying to return back into US to keep her residency, since even that approach isn't guaranteed. I wouldn't want her to relinquish her PM. Are there any options I have in this situation?
The only option I see is for her to stay here for the remaining two years, become citizen and join me then. I want to ask if anyone else has been in the same situation.
Very much appreciate all the assistance.

Your wife can get a waiver that allow her to stay outside of US for 2 years. Then, she can apply for US citizenship.

As suggested, she can apply for re-entry permit which is valid for 2 years and can be renewed for another 2 years. For renewal, she needs to go back to US and apply there. Biometrics and other formalities need to be done in person. For citizenship, she would need 18 months of physical presence after 3 years of getting green card ( assuming she will apply based on marriage with US citizenship). If she fulfills these requirements, she needs to prove that she did not abandon her primary abode in US in order to qualify for citizenship.
