o, Understandably, you won't find many positions posted without O&G experience listed as preferred or required.
Is it common for Aramco to hire mechanical engineers lacking direct O&G experience, but are otherwise very qualified?
Thanks!

Any takers? I assume that the answer is yes, Aramco does hire some engineers who are not coming from O&G backgrounds. -Am I wrong? -Any personal experience? -Example of a mechanical engineering position at Aramco that probably does not need an O&G background to be performed effectively?
Thank you!

My 0.02 c, all the posted positions in the website I checked related to my career required O&G experience, despite it is accounting, which can have so many ramifications
Some IT positions, according to what a friend told me, may not demmand O&G experience, but specific platforms or stuff like that. Others of course, medical, teaching
Engineering, really no idea. My advice is to check in the website everything posted that might be related with your field and the requirements will tell you if specific O&G experience is mandatory

O&G experience would be preferable but it definitely shouldn't stop you from applying. There's quite a few people working here without this experience
There are so many different departments in Aramco - give it a try
