Hi all,
I'm starting a new thread here for those who have received their visa les and now going through the visa application process at their respective Saudi embassies in their country of origin.
I received my visa le last week and applied my visa at the Saudi Embassy in Kuala Lumpur. However, there is now a new ruling where the embassy requires a document known as e-wakala or power of attorney letter. It is basically an authorisation letter to be issued by Aramco to the local visa agent, authorising the latter to apply for my visa.
This is the only obstacle left before my passport can be stamped with the visa.
The agent and I have alerted AOC London on this matter and they said the e-wakala will be issued by HQ in Dhahran.
Has anyone experienced this before? I suspect it applies to certain Saudi embassies in certain countries only which obviously now includes Malaysia.
If so, how long does it normally take for Aramco to issue the e-wakala? Surely it can't be that long, right? Obviously, the ball is in Aramco's court now.

Hi Ritzkool,
I think I have the same situation here in Jakarta... My Relo told me that and Aramco still working on that to resolved this issue with KSA Embassy here prior the passport get stamped... that why she couldn't give a realistic ETA to relocate. In the meantime...as all said here, be patient... thanks for sharing the info...

Hi Ritzkool, I was wondering if you have got any update on e-wakala for your visa in Malaysia, we haven't got any update for ours in Indonesia.

Hi coffeepot,
I hope this finds you well.
My apologies for overlooking to update this thread as I already did in the Visa Block thread and Timeline thread.
My visa have already been stamped by the Saudi Embassy in Kuala Lumpur on 6 June 2014. I am departing for Saudi Arabia this coming Sunday, 29 June 2014 (first day of Ramadan).
I was lucky because the Saudi Embassy in KL granted an exemption for the e-wakala ruling for Aramco candidates. I believe AOC London communicated with Dhahran which in turn either communicated with the Saudi Foreign Ministry in Riyadh or directly with the embassy in KL.
Once that was cleared, my visa agent got my passport stamped on the same day.
I wish you all the best and hope to see you soon in the Kingdom.
