I have a couple of questions about life in Aramco with very young children. We have an 8-month old.
1. Obviously, I suppose you try and keep them out of the sun. Does anyone in addition have any special tips and tricks.
2. Our little one is currently breast feeding and is likely to still be doing so later in the year when we arrive. Given dress restrictions etc, I would imagine that public breast feeding is clearly a no-no both on and off compound. However, what mother and child facilities are available for breast feeding both in the compound or more generally in the malls outside?

I think it's great you're breastfeeding and planning to continue! You can breastfeed in public with a nursing cover, blanket, or scarf. I don't think anyone will bother you about it. I've stuck my baby inside my abaya many times and no one really noticed at all until I pulled the baby out. IKEA has a nursing room. Some of the malls have women only eating areas, so that's an option as well, but even the family eating section would be ok too. You can also nurse inside the prayer room or sit outside the prayer room on a chair. There's usually chairs around there for women who cannot kneel down for prayer.

You don't say where you will be based, but you would be fine breastfeeding anywhere on Rakah compound - I don't know about other camps. I also see women feeding on the buses to and from the shops or Dhahran.
"La Leche League" is in Dhahran which will be able to offer lots of information and advice.
