Has anyone left their partner back in UK?

I've had my interview with the London office, its incredibly tempting but its application is for single occupancy only so my bf and cats would be left back in UK! Its a big step but wanted to know if you've left partner behind and how you've made work as I'd be on my own in new country so very daunting. I've been in current org for over 10yrs and desperate for change, not to mention BIG plus on tax free salary!! But its the relationship/pet/family side that concerns me really. Plus I want to start a family at some poinjt so have said to myself at 36 now give it a year at ARamco then come back.
