o,
I recently came across this forum in my search for more information about Saudi Aramco.
I had a telephone interview with one of the U.S. Consultants in the Procurement department a few weeks ago. Upon completion of that teleconference, I was told I would be invited for another round of interview. I received an email from ASC within a few days inviting me to Houston. However that interview got switched to video conference due to travel approval issues on their end. So here are my questions:
1) Is it normal to go from face-to-face to video conference interview?
2) Is the interview medium indicative of the outcome? What is the likelihood of getting an offer? Is one medium better than the other? Or is it strictly on how well one performs?
3) My interview invitation letter says "positions at Saudi Aramco are full time, permanent and residential or bachelor positions that require you to live in Saudi Arabia". If that is the case, why am I being interview as I am a woman?
4) If company does hire women and makes me an offer, what consideration is given to my husband and son? 5) My husband is also a professional. He is a Petroleum Engineer by training. What is the best way to get us both an offer?
I would greatly appreciate your thoughts and insights.

Women are hired by Aramco on Single Status only. Meaning if you are married your husband and children will not be allowed to come with you. They could come for a short visit once you are here. Visitor visas can take 3 - 6 months to acquire.
If you want family status, your husband must be the one to apply and receive a job. After you arrive here, you can go to HR and apply as a casual employee. Meaning benefits come through the husband's employment, not yours.
Should you have this interview and your husband is also called for an interview, Aramco will stop working with you and only work with your husband for initial employment.
It does not matter whether your interview is face to face or by video conference. Video conference is even how the interview would have been conducted at ASC in Houston. Your interview is usually with people in KSA. Aramco job fairs are usually the only actual face to face interviews conducted.
Equal chance of receiving a job no matter what format the interview is in.

Vpainter,
Thank you for your response. Also, please let me commend you and others for making this forum what it is - a truly informative and educational site.
With regards to your response, you indicated I would be hired on a single status but would have the opportunity to invite my child and husband to visit once I'm in the kingdom. I was wondering if you know if an exception has ever been granted to a female with a child less than a year old, allowing her to bring her child the same time as her arrival at the kingdom? If not, can I get a visa that would allow my son to live with me as oppose to just visit? My son and I both have a U.S. Passport.
Secondly, if an acceptable offer is made and I eventually make the move to Saudi Arabia, can my husband apply at a future date and possibly get an offer and family status? How does that affect my employment?

There are no waivers for women being given family status. Never hurts to ask, things change, but no one has been successful no matter the age of your child. Once you are in kingdom, you can apply for a visitor's visa for your son, this may take 3 to 6 months. The U.S. passport holders are given 5 year multi-entry visitor visas and he could live with you as long as the housing paperwork for the visit says he can stay with you. Everyone has to get housing to sign off on visitors coming as part of the paperwork. They usually all get approved. He could only stay the amount of time listed on the visa and then he would have to exit the country and re-enter. You could take him to Bahrain and come back, if there is a time before he can come back in, then he would have to have someone there to take care of him for you as you came back to work.
I am sorry I do not know how that exactly works, I have friends who have had visitors (family) living with them for an extended period. Someone else on the forum may know better details.
Your husband can apply and get a job. He would be given family status and you would be moved to casual status. Benefits would come through your husband. Your husband would receive family housing for you to move into the where depending on availability.
