Hi all Can anyone tell me if any of the houses in Al Rakah have private back yards. The pictures I've seen show a communal back garden that runs the length of the block. No good if you have pets.
My worry is that we have 3 cats and a dog coming with us. Does anyone know if that will be taken into account when looking at where to place us?
What advise would anyone give for bringing over our live in help with us from Qatar? A good idea or not regarding visa and iqama etc? Do all Aramco houses have a maids room?
Any help/guidance would be greatly appreciated.

First you need to know you are only allowed 2 pets per badge number. Some people have more than two, but they have a friend claim the pet. I will send you a contact who works with new people bringing in pets. I do not believe you can bring in 4 pets. All pets owned by people who come to work for Aramco are required to join the Kennel Club which is where our vets work.
Your animals are not taken into account on where you will be housed.
Rakah does have communal backyards that is a strip down the back of the houses. Some people have fenced around their back patios.
KSA has rules about live in help, where they can come from and through which agencies. Your help will not be allowed to come with you when you come. You can go to HR once here and attempt to sponsor your live-in to come here.
People who have live ins, use one of the bedrooms or build in the gae or patio or build a room in back yard or turn the small room in the gae into a bedroom (it is air conditioned). This is in the 4 Aramco compounds (DHA, RT, ABQ, UDH. Rakah compound houses have a bedroom you could use as a live-in's room.

Thank you vpainter. You have been very helpful. It looks like we are going to have to do some serious thinking on this.

Hi vpainter, Could you also please send the contact to myself as well? We have 3 dogs and I had previously heard the idea of having a friend claiming the 3rd pet but do not know of any details if and how this could work. Thank you so much for your role on this site. It is so very beneficial!

I sent you an email.
Usually you have to get here, make friends and then one may be willing to sponsor another pet for you.
