Good morning everyone, I would need some assistance please. Does anyobody currently have an experience working at the Southern area in South Ghawar Producing engineering division?. In case an engineer will be working there, where his/her residency will be normally located to?. Is Abqaiq the nearest compound from there and how long it takes to commute there?. What about the working environment there in South Ghawar?. The position i have applied for is Instrument & Control Engineer. What about that department, are there challenges enouph, what about typical everyday duties?.Any help for that would be very appreciable. The position states that the engineer will be working with the Technical Support Unit and data management group under the Southern Area, South Ghawar Producing Department (SGPD) Engineering Divisionm, if that helps. Thank you

The South Ghawar Producing Engineering Division (and its Technical Support Unit) are indeed located in Udhailiyah, in the East Admin Building. So if you are assigned there, you would normally be allocated housing in Udhailiyah (based on availability, of course). And if you are in Udhailiyah, there wouldn't be much of a commute, the furthest houses on the compound are only 1.5km from the Admin Building (some appear to be only around 200m away).

Thank you both of you. And how is actually living in a such compound compared to dhahran`s or Ras Tanura`s?.Is it an organized compound? are there westerns living there? are there hospitals or super markets inside the compound?.What kind of activities are available for me and my family? Regarding the position, it is a about intrument & control engineer, network engineer related,so i guess the job will be working out in the refineries?.What is the normal working hour schedule? i am currently working in my country as Network Engineer,i am western,37yrs old, married, (not UK/USA/CAN), have 11yrs+ of experience, i hold various cisco networking related certifications,i have BSc in Electrical/Electronic Engineer and MSc in Telecoms and Computer Networking Engineer. To be honest, i am not very aware of the salaries in the Oil and Gas industry for engineers like me.So can anyone advice me regarding this matter?.What are the normal benefits given from Aramco to expats?.Does it actually depend on the nationality passport and GC Code as well?. Is Aramco a good choice for me and my wife to make the big decision?. thank you

All Aramco compounds are fairly similar in most respects. The main differences between them are in size - Dhahran being the largest and Udhailiyah the smallest. The "organization" of the compounds and the mixture of nationalities are more or less the same although only Dhahran has a hospital, the others have clinics. If you want more details about Udhailiyah, you should look in the "Living in Udhailiyah"' forum, you will find a lot of useful info there about things like activities etc.
I should just mention however that at least one person has recently mentioned that they have been assigned temporary housing in Abqaiq as there was no available housing for them in Udhailiyah.
