I was wondering if in the KSA they have a wide offer of laptops, or electronic shops to buy them? Decent warranty?
If not i will buy one before I fly.
Thanks!

I am not sure, but as other question you should ask is if you can get the keyboard from your region. You may find it hard to use keyboard from another country.

Plenty of electronics stores, at least near Dhahran (eXtra by the Corniche, Virgin store in Dhahran Mall, Jarir Bookstore near Ikea). I'd say it's not at all necessary to buy before you come (they even have a decent supply of the latest Macs).

I had similar question as django, so thanks for reply. How do prices compare, though? I assume everything is more expensive there than in US -- but are we talking small difference (5 to 10% higher), or big difference (30% to 40% higher)?

TexasFamily4, Prices for electronics in general are pretty close. We moved here from Illinois, so left behind a 7 1/2% sales tax. We bought a 27" iMac here, and the final bill was less than it would have been back home.

cgyguy,
Yes, that's correct. I use FaceTime on it all the time. It even came with at least three power cords (to handle the wide variety of plugs we have here in Kingdom).

for new comers, buy one and bring it with you. you need to get used to life here to be able to shop around as stores have certain hours to do business.
