o,
We will be moving to ABQ by end of June with our 16 yr old daughter. BI and medical are done just waiting for our visa. Can anyone please help as I only see threads for those with younger kids.
1. What are the activities in ABQ for teens her age? 2. Is there a group for teenage girls around camp? 2. she will be enrolled in Dhahran high school, is there a bus from ABQ to dhs? How long is the commute?
It's a big move for her and we will appreciate your help. Thanks

Hi, Please PM me, and I will send you a contact. The end of June is a bit tricky, as that is when school finishes here, and most kids leave for the summer. The camp may seem very quiet for July/August, but that is not how it usually is. I don't live in ABQ, but there are students who commute back and forth to DHS- my guess is that would take about an hour each way at those times of day. There are several who just finished GR 9 and will start commuting in the fall. I would think they offer an activities bus as well, for students who want to join sports and other after school activities. I don't know of any specific activities or groups for teenage girls in ABQ. There probably aren't a large number of high school aged students on camp, other than those who are commuting to DHS, and the GR 9 students attending ABQ school. Most students go to boarding school after that- closest options are The Bahrain School, and King's Academy in Jordan. There are the same activities generally available for everyone basically, swimming, golf, tennis, bowling, movie theater etc. Each camp has club activities, outside of school our kids are involved in things like soccer and badminton for example. I would imagine she will want to be able to attend the events happening at DHS, but I don't know how transportation could be arranged for things like dances etc. Families with commuting kids would know. I'm sure she could get babysitting work! Sometimes older students tutor younger students, if they are interested in doing so. This is a big move for a 16 year old girl, especially if she hasn't lived outside of her home country (I don't know if that is the case or not) . Best of luck to you!

Each Aramco compound (ABQ, RT, UDH and DHA) has a returning student center for high school and college students. Kids who stay in kingdom for school also can use the facility. You will need to get your daughter an ID card from recreation so she can enter the facility. Aramco has a recreation director for this facilities in DHA and there is probably one in all the facilities in the other camps. The kids hang out together and they have activities for the kids and there are ping pong tables, air hockey tables, etc in the facility.
Their phone number should be on the phone list left in your home for you on arrival. If not call telephone information (number is on the list) or call Community Information Center (CIC - number also on the list), they can give you the number.
