Is it true that the camp houses are only for Americans?
X Aramco employee told me that there is no camp houses for Europeans, specifically what about Irish passport holders?

No, that is not true. Aramco family camp housing can be assigned to any expat nationality, so long as they are grade code 11+ and have been assigned family status.

thanks Grove Wandrerer.
that lead me to another question, I noticed from other posts that the Americans are assigned to DHA and Rakkah while the British or European are assigned to Ras Tanura ,Abq and Udilaiyah. Am right in saying that? or it is wrong observation and it is a matter of luck.
Is there any clear policy for houses assignment rather than the grade and family status?

goatlast,
If you dig deeper into the posts, you'll see that lately there has been a big push to get Americans out of Rakah and onto Dhahran main camp. It has to do with taxes and the fact that Americans are the only folks (as far as I know) that have to pay income taxes even if they don't step foot in the States all year.
There are plenty of non-US folks in Rakah, and will be more as the Americans move to DHA, and more of the Rakah houses are rennovated for occupation.
There probably are some very complicated rules for housing placement, but they're not posted, and probably change regularly. The company will try to make things as sensible as they can, but I think that most of it is just lucky timing (or not).

There are all nationalities in all the compounds. Housing is determined by GC, number of children and availability upon arrival.

That is an incorrect observation. It may possibly be true that in recent months, more Americans have been assigned housing in Dhahran and Rakkah than other nationalities but this is not an absolute rule and as others including vpainter have stated, there are people of all nationalities on all compounds.

A numerical perspective. Rakkah has about 300 houses occupied: <100 are US payroll.

Availability is a critical variable in the housing assignment equation.
We are USD and tentatively assigned to RT, pending availability of housing

I read earlier on this site of an apparent agreement between Aramco and the U.S. how American families have to be placed on a compound owned by Aramco. So when Americans are placed, even temporarily on Rakkah, is it Aramco or the American expat that has to pay the additional fees or taxes ? Thank you for your clarification on the matter.

I think I posted this before in another thread,
The priority list for housing is as follows as per the IR Manual, in ranked order
1. Female employees, US Payroll employees, teachers, physicians 2. Grade code 15+ employees 3. Grade code 11-14 core critical skills employees 4. Other grade code 11-14 employees
FYI, even GC15+ from other nationalities are being assigned to Rakah so getting a housing assignment in Dhahran is close to impossible at the moment.

From Maursh's post, it seems like Rakah is already 60% full. With all the people waiting for visa le, once the visa les are issued it won't take long to fill up the remaining 200 houses in Rakah. Does anyone know if Aramco is considering any other altrenative housing compounds nearby to accomodate future Ararcons who will be based out of Dhahran office?

There are expansions to all the housing compounds in the works, including over 1000 additional units in Dhahran Camp. It will be 2016 until the Dhahran expansion is ready for first occupancy.

Non US Citizen/passport holders that will work in Dhahran are being assigned to Abqaiq and commute to Dhahran (2hours+ the whole trip) Dont know exactly about people working outside Dhahran, but there are people who recieve an allowance to live outside Aramco property

Sorry, I re-read the post and some critical details are missing
Non US Citizen/passport holders GC 11 to 13 that will work in Dhahran are being assigned to Abqaiq and commute to Dhahran
GC-14 plus (I was informed by relo, maybe is more) might get Rakkah, repeat might.
Bidding proccess to get to main camp when you are assigned elsewhere (and workin in DH) is explained, pretty straight forward in the forum, people can search
BTW, as Azraeli kindly posted, teachers and doctors are priority in compound they will work including main camp, despite high GCs in other departments
