Hi

I've received my offer and am currently going through background checks.
I've worked in UAE for 2 years, and have been asked to provide Criminal Clearance Certificate from UAE. I am now working and living in UK.

Does anyone have any experience of getting this?

Reading posts on other forums - it appears this can be a painful process...

Any help or insight would be appreciated!

From having lived in Abu Dhabi, I know that the Khalifa City A and Khalidiya police stations issue these with little to no hassle for current residents. I have no idea how one would go about obtaining one once one's national ID has been cancelled.

The best advice I can offer is to get someone who speaks Arabic - preferably an Emirati - to phone up and ask if it is possible and what the procedure is. I have a feeling you're going to need wasta...
